Our story.

Our fustration

We are tired of the poverty tag being associated with Africa.

The facts

According to World Bank, The average poverty rate for sub-Saharan Africa stands at about 41 percent, and of the world’s 28 poorest countries, 27 are in sub-Saharan Africa all with a poverty rate above 30 percent.

Our desire

Our desire is to see the label of poverty wiped off from the face of Africa.

Our mission

To develop and implement sustainable models, strategies and methods that will effectively address the poverty issues in Africa.

We wont stop at doing just research, we will work on the fields.

The Team and The Aboki

Our first strategy

Fishing model

This is based on the saying “it is better to teach a man how to fish than to give him fish”

After much observation of the companies and organizations that implement these first 2 layers of the model. We saw that this is not a sustainable method of addressing poverty. We further developed it to rather than teach him how to fish, supervise this fishing expedition. See more details in the diagram below.

This led us to developing the Market Space Creating Model.

We identify ourselves as the creators, we focus on creating and managing the environment that will further enable the beneficiaries generate income and the customers obtain value. Because of how incapacitated these individuals are to attracting the customers that will increase their income. We volunteer to be the partner who would expose them to knowledge, resources, and a bigger market space.

Our fruits

Through this model, we have been able to create launch 2 products that have made considerable impact on the beneficiaries and on the customers as well.

Before creating a product we think about both ends of the MSCM market, we think of how we can build the beneficiaries skills to provide the value required. Next, we think about the impact of the products on the customers, to see if this is an industry that is in shambles and in need of an innovative kick or if it is an industry in need of total transformation.

We think about the beneficiaries, customers and the economy as a whole. We launch test products and after much success we launch full scale and recruit more beneficiaries.

The Aboki Shoe Cleaning

The beneficiaries are equipped with shoe cleaning skills. And we gave the industry an innovative kick. We noticed a customer segment that has been deprived of value. We always make sure that we approach differently and that is what we did and that is also what our customers testify about. Because that way, we can be sure of a steady stream of income for the beneficiaries.

The Aboki Shoe Repair

The beneficiaries are equipped with shoe cleaning skills. And we gave the industry an innovative kick. We noticed a customer segment that has been deprived of value. We always make sure that we approach differently and that is what we did and that is also what our customers testify about. Because that way, we can be sure of a steady stream of income for the beneficiaries.

The impact

80% of the impact of our work can not be expressed in number but we would try to express them in numbers, stories and pictures for you all to see.

A customer had a very important meeting but couldn’t attend because her shoes suddenly got bad but thankly she could count on us as we were the only option that thought about her convenience first.

Sabo can now employ 3 of his family members under his care because we scaled his operations in his small shop.

Isaac can now do more repairs and earn more income. He has taken a new apprentice and He is making plans to move into a bigger workspace.
